Eng. Amjad Rawashdeh, General Manager, National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), was also present at the meeting.

Liu Zhenya noted that the core of sustainable development lies in clean development, and the key is to build GEI and realize "Two Replacements, One Increase and One Restore". Conditions are ready for the development of GEI, which will exert key, far-reaching effects on energy supply, climate environment, and social and economic development. By integrating withArab States Energy Interconnection,Energy Interconnection of Jordanwillenable it toexport clean power to neighboring countries and Europe, which will further boost Jordan's economic growth, enhance transnational power trade capacity, and fuel regional integration.

She would like to have Jordon participate in the GEI initiative. As the development of renewable energy is an irreversible trend, Jordan is making active efforts to push for energy transition, lower power costs, and strengthen the investment and construction of energy infrastructure. Jordan hopes to use its prime location to accelerate power grid interconnection with neighboring countries, andtake advantage of the differences in time zone, season, and resource, to leverage the value and benefits of interconnection, in a way to build Jordan into a key pillar of Arab States Energy Interconnection.
